Black Edition
The dark end of the range. Black travertine is a different stone to work with: the pitting is deeper and more open than in the cream and beige blocks, so the surface reads closer to volcanic rock than to polished marble, and it holds a wall of deep paint instead of disappearing into it.
These are the fittings for rooms you want to feel enclosed rather than bright. A hallway in a period house with original floorboards, a kitchen with dark cabinetry, a snug painted in something you had to think twice about. Paired with walnut and a warm bulb, black stone reads warm rather than cold, which is the whole reason it works where a matt black metal fitting would not.
Every piece is cut from natural stone, so the variation is wider here than anywhere else in the collection. Some blocks come through nearly even, others carry rust and grey right through the pitting.
