Eight centimetres wide, 16 tall, and cut thin enough that the stone itself lights up. Switch it on and the face of the block glows from the inside, with the seams and the open pores showing as bright veins across a warm surface. Switch it off and it is a plain pale rectangle.
That is the whole reason to choose this one over the cube. The cube throws light at the wall; this one becomes the light. It is the only piece in the wall range where the material is doing the work rather than the beam.
Where it earns its place

Where you want to see the stone at night. A backlit face reads from the far end of a room in a way a lit wall does not.

Portrait proportions. Beside a tall mirror, a panelled door or a narrow chimney breast, the 8 by 16 format sits better than a square.

Entrances. Warm and visible from the gate or the street, with light also going up the render and down onto the threshold.

In pairs. Two glowing faces at the same height read as a considered decision. One reads as an accident.
Real stone, so no two are the same
This is the fitting that proves the material, because you are looking straight through the stone. Every seam, every pit and every change of density shows up as a difference in brightness, and none of that repeats from piece to piece. A resin copy lights up evenly. This does not, and that is the point.
Fitting it
Hard wired and a job for a qualified electrician. Mark the vertical centre line before anything else, because a glowing rectangle shows a lean that a round fitting would hide. In a hall, 1.5 to 1.6 m from the floor to the middle of the stone. Beside a front door, match the height to the door head. If you are fitting a pair, use a laser or a long level across both, not a tape from the floor.
